Fall Trends I Can't Wait to Wear
New York Fashion Week just wrapped up, and here are some of the trends I can't wait to wear next season. I know its premature, but I can't help get excited!
Fur
Whether its an oversized collar like Behnaz Sarafpour's, a bold blue hue like Brian Reyes' or classic white like Derek Lam's, fur was all over runways this season. If you're opposed to the real thing, don't worry, the faux options will be plentiful.
Turtlenecks
Baby its cold outside! Stay warm in one of the dozens of turtlenecks that graced the Fall runways. Whether its slim and sexy like at Christian Siriano, bright and layered like at DVF, or ruffled and feminine like at Jason Wu, this classic silhouette is definitely back in vogue.
Longer Skirts
Some say that woman's hemlines reflect the health of the economy - think micro minis in the Roaring 20's vs. floor grazers during the Great Depression. If this is true, some designers may think that the recession isn't quite over. Knee brushing skirts and dresses were everywhere, from slinky and serious at Calvin Klein, to retro sheaths at L'Wren Scott, and even flouncy skirt suits at Marc Jacobs. If you're legs are in less than stellar shape, you can rest easy next season, knowing mini skirt dominance is officially over.
Big Pants
Katherine Hepburn's style will always reign supreme, and now you can easily capture the leading lady's signature style with a pair of Fall's flowing, wide-leg pants. Pair them with bold hues a la Carolina Herrera, a voluminous belted blouse like at Oscar de la Renta, or match a silky sexy pair with a sharp blazer, like at Behnaz Sarafpour.
I know you're not looking forward to next Fall now, especially since we haven't even gotten to Spring yet, but keep these trends in mind and you'll be ahead of the pack when you are ready to start your seasonal wardrobe planning!
